Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to Listabusiness (ABN 21 763 924 922) (Listabusiness, we, our or us).
Listabusiness complies with the National Privacy Principles (NPP's) as set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act).The NPP's, and this Privacy Policy set out, among other things, how we handle your personal information.
1. Collection of personal information
Personal information means information or an opinion from which an individual's identity may be ascertained (Listabusiness does not collect, give or store any opinions on clients).
Listabusiness, as a provider of information, may obtain personal information in order to provide those and other services. If part or all of the information is not provided, Listabusiness may not be able to supply those services to individual clients.
Listabusiness collects information from its clients for the purposes of identifying those clients and the businesses and franchises offered in respect of which the service is provided. Listabusiness may also collect personal information for the purposes of verifying the identity of clients and for the collection of any debts that may become overdue.
Specific personal information collected from individuals includes contact details and, in the case of sellers, information on the business or franchise offered for sale. No information, other than information you authorise to be placed on our website or you otherwise specifically authorise us to provide, will be made available to any other person or entity. Personal information will be retained by Listabusiness for a period of seven years after a client ceases to be a client of Listabusiness.
Listabusiness may also provide statistical, demographic and trend information to third parties but that information will not include any individual’s personal information.
2. Collection and storage
We will collect personal information about clients only from that client (for example, verbally, in writing, by email or when the client visits the Listabusiness website).
The personal information is maintained on our servers, and a reference to this information is sent to the application used by the client to access the Internet, in the form of a "cookie". A "cookie" is a method employed to maintain a link between the application used by the client and the website. It is also used for security purposes. Listabusiness uses a non-persistent (or session) cookie, which means once the application is exited, the cookie and the reference to the data it contains is destroyed.
Listabusiness takes reasonable steps to ensure the security of personal information held by it and to protect personal information from risks such as loss, unauthorised access or use, destruction, modification and unauthorised disclosure.
3. Use of personal information
Listabusiness uses personal information to identify clients and to provide the various services requested from time to time by that client.
Listabusiness may also:
- use the personal information from time to time to offer clients additional products and services that may be available from Listabusiness, its associates and, unless the client requests otherwise, from third parties;
- disclose personal information to third parties to which Listabusiness contracts out specialised functions including mailing houses and printing companies. (If so, Listabusiness will take reasonable steps to ensure that those contractors comply with the Privacy Act, and are authorised only to use personal information in order to perform the functions required by Listabusiness.); and
- use the personal information to compile statistical and demographic data for use in our business and for distribution whether or not for a fee) to third parties. However, such information will have all personal identifiers removed and will be compiled in such a way that it will not be possible for any third party to determine or assume with any reasonable degree of certainty the personal information of any individual.
Listabusiness will not use or disclose your personal information for any other purpose without first obtaining the client’s express or implied consent.
4. Access and correction of personal information
Under the Privacy Act, an individual has the right, with some exceptions, to access personal information relating to that individual held by Listabusiness. An Individual also has the right to have personal information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, corrected. Our policy is to consider any requests for access or correction in a timely manner and to take reasonable steps to correct the information so that it is accurate, complete and up-to-date.
